LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

Firstly, I would like to personally thank everyone who is taking part in these games, both writers and the fans who support them.

But especially who helped to put it together and keep it going:
lizardspots did the beautiful art, layout and icons, who is an honorary mod for this community, as she is very busy studying to be a surgeon!
annephoenix is a great friend and writer, and graciously offered to help with this, and has been essential in many aspects, including the lottery draw and making of lovely team icons (which are for fans, too!), and can be here when I am not.
Special hugs to reddwarfer has also been a lifesaver, getting roped into this, and has done a great deal of work here. She is now a participant, and has to limit herself to what she can and cannot see and do.
Which brings me to aliciamasters who is, along with both Lizard, myself and Leila, a mod for Walking The Plank, and is a total darling who has offered her help however I may need it, which I do, because honestly, I had no idea this would be such a success.

So thank you so much ladies! I owe you my life one.

Now, to our teams and fans, some words.



These games were inspired by and adapted from a fest at the steelandsparks FullMetal Alchemist Roy/Ed community, run by the brilliant mikkeneko. The concept was so original and fun inspiring that, with permission, and the help of many, I have managed to throw together the snarry_games.

The Snape/Harry ship has taken some very large hits lately, including the shocking canon of The Half Blood Prince, and the closing of the Detention site. But it didn't take very long before we Snarry fans began to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and rebuild.

Snape and Harry canon hate stronger than ever? So be it. We'll request and write dozens of merry_smutmas and naughty_newyear and harry_holidays fics and art, to remind us of how we stand strong against the tide of current canon negativity!

Have a personal situation cause the sudden, unexplained, and Rita Skeeter reporting of the closure of our flagship site? Fine. We will just rebuild the old one, make it bigger, and better, with the help of volunteers from everywhere!

That is teamwork, my friends, and the support of each other in our darkest hours. I am only riding the wave of what we've already begun, and with this community, and by having these games, I hope it will unite us, overriding the negatives we've faced, and help build on the future of Snarry excellence and community with fellow authors, artists and fans.

On that note, I would like to mention that our two teams have announced their Captains!

For Team Romance, we have venivincere and bethbethbeth as Team Co-Captains and ziasudra_fic and reservoir as co-maintainers of team_romance. Outstanding way to organise, Team!

For Team Angst, we have a confirmed Captain in rexluscus and the rumour is she is brilliantly efficient, mods teamangst, and they are running like a well-oiled machine. Great work, everyone!

The deadline for all fics is April 16, after the Grand re-opening of Walking The Plank, and we will begin to post a random prompt a day, both Team's entries, until we are done.
